Recycle-a-Bike will be accepting donations of complete bikes starting on Saturday Oct. 11th from Noon to 4pm, and after that by appointment only at the Steel Yard. At this time we cannot accept bike parts and are only looking for complete bikes, but that might need a little love.

Trailer and Moving work progress.

Demo work has begun in the corner building, so we need to be out NOW. We made some good progress Saturday, but demolition is soon to start right overhead above the RAB area, so we need to get this stuff out as soon as possible. Any extra work days that can be scheduled this week would be helpfull.  This includes emptying and taking down the tool room.

  • Bikes to the left of the tracks were moved outside this week by the building contractors in a neat row near the gambia bikes.  These will eventually go into the trailer .  They also moved the “handlebar racks” of tire tubes along with any other stray bike parts fromt he left side of the tracks over to the RAB area, and moved the soapbox racer outside near the studio building.
  • Finished stripping  and scrapping the  last of the junk bikes.
  • Moved and locked all of the bikes and racks from outside of the shop area into the trailer (temporarily) we will organize these better once the trailer is finished.
  • Moved frames from this area over near the RAB tool room.
  • Did all final repairs of the 10 WRWC bike. These were lined up near the WRWC conoes outside. WRWC folks should claim these ASAP before they get pilfered.
  • Got some scrap tubing from the scrap dumpster across the street to use for fabricating hanging bars and hooks.
  • cut up a bunch of wood blocks to make brackets for the hanging bars.
  • cut some more plywood for the rear door/wall.

We really have to lose more stuff. Just the 25 or so bikes in the trailer now take up ALOT of space.  Can we plan a bike sale for the early spring?
