Bike Mechanic
Recycle-A-Bike (RAB) is seeking an enthusiastic individual who will work as a bicycle mechanic in our retail/repair bicycle shop and support programs and other duties in support of our mission.
The Bike Mechanic position will work on repairing bikes brought in for service and refurbishing donated bicycles at our bike shop located at 1911 Westminster Street in Providence in order to serve a broad cross-section of the community to meet their cycling needs.
Job duties:
● Repair, check and provide tune-ups of bikes following RAB’s standards, policies and procedures.
● Assemble donated bikes for resale.
● Evaluate the condition of bikes and determine what is needed to properly repair.
● Ensuring the shop, work areas and inventory are organized and clean.
● Participate actively as a member of the RAB team.
● Representing RAB with positivity and consistency.
● Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
● At least one year of experience as a repair mechanic
● Ability to work with a wide variety of people, to create a welcoming space and
environment, and to remain poised in a fast paced environment.
● Commitment to and respect for equity and diversity.
● *Moving and lifting bicycles up to 50 lbs is a regular part of this job, but reasonable
accommodations can be made upon request.
● Proficiency in Spanish strongly desired.

Operations Manager
Recycle-A-Bike (RAB) is seeking an enthusiastic individual who will manage the operation of our retail/repair bicycle shop and support programs and other duties in support of our mission.
The Operations Manager position will oversee operations of our bike shop located at 1911 Westminster Street in Providence and diversify streams of revenue in order to serve a broad cross-section of the community to meet their cycling needs.
Job duties include:
• Selling bicycles and bicycle accessories online.
• Increasing RAB’s presence on social media and marketing.
• Recruiting/training shop volunteers.
• Recruiting class participants.
• Ensuring the shop and inventory are organized and staff is scheduled
• Coordinating outreach and partnerships to community organizations
• Develop, lead, oversee, and meet fundraising and revenue generation programs that include, but are not limited to sponsorship, membership, and grants.
• Representing RAB with positivity and consistency.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
• Experience working in a bike shop, in either commercial or nonprofit settings.
• Ability to meet quantitative financial targets for revenue generation.
• Ability to work with a wide variety of people, to create a welcoming space and environment, and to remain poised in a fast-paced environment.
